Introduced in Summer 2013, the 3rd generation Porsche Cayman (model identification 981) was received to widespread praise within the motoring press. It was released with a completely restyled body to the 1st and 2nd generations and had a longer wheelbase, a wider front track and a completely restyled interior to bring it up to the modern Porsche layout. The new model gained acclaim from the
motoring press and was widely praised as being the best handling sports car at any price due to its mid-engined layout and driving dynamics. Available with a choice of two different engines, a 2.7L flat six-cylinder engine was the entry level, whilst the 3.4L flat six-cylinder engine was the range topper at the time, producing 325bhp and creating the ability to sprint to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 175mph.
